New York Trip, August 2004 - Breakneck Ridge
Breakneck Ridge is a steep, rocky ridge running away from the Hudson River, dividing Dutchess from Putnam Counties. It climbs a steep 800' in 1/2 mile, as can be shown from photos below. In addition to the trail photos, I've included a couple of photos taken of and from the ridge. Other photos taken from Breakneck Ridge are included in the "Views of the Hudson River" album. Here is a link to Panoramic view from road on Storm King Mountain Road (Route 218), which includes a view of Breakneck Ridge from the other side of the Hudson: http://www.hvnet.com/panoramas/stormkingroad.htm
