Storm King Mountain from the foot of Breakneck Ridge. The freight rail line runs on the west side of the Hudson River. Cindy and I drove over there to check out the road carved out of the top of the bluff, but it was closed. Subsequent checking on the Internet turned up that the road and trails within the Storm King State Park had been closed due to unexploded ordinance discovered when a forest fire caused explosions several years ago. Apparently the US Army had used Storm King Mountain for target practice from the armory at Cold Springs at some point in the past.
