There's an AT shelter and water (as is always - mostly - the case at AT shelters) in Plumorchard Gap, about 1.4 miles south of Blue Ridge Gap. We didn't make the trek down to the shelter, as our target for the evening was Deep Gap Shelter, 7.8 miles away. We arrived at the shelter trail at 10:25 AM, about 40 minutes after our start at Blue Ridge Gap.
