This is the Deep Gap Shelter. We arrived around 3:30, after lunching at Dick's Creek Gap at 12:45 for about 20 minutes. The climb out of Dick's Creek Gap to the top of Powell Mountain was interminable, and very tough for me at the end of the day. The shelter is about .3 mile off the AT; water is about 2/3 the way down to the shelter.
