The next morning awoke cold and clear. This is the Roan Mountain High Knob Shelter, formerly a fire warden's cabin, now rehabbed into a very fine shelter. No fireplace. No privy. A very nice spring down hill less than 100 yards behind the shelter. Note that the spring is also downhill from the area used by most for toilet facilities - treat or filter your water!!
