BW2003 Trip Day Two

After an overnight rain and breakfast of french toast, we broke camp on Lake Three, traversed Three and Four to the series of three short portages into Hudson. We crossed Hudson, which was bigger than I expected, and made the 105 into Insula. We took a southern route around the island and after the peninsula, took the backside of the first two islands in the chain north of the peninsula. I tried coming out between the second and third, but the wind/waves were so rough, I ducked back behind the fourth. Crossed over to the eastern peninsula, and crept around the end, turning downwind to get around the next big island. When we made it to the open part of the lake, there was a canoe at Williamson Island, and my heart sank. But wait! They were just looking at the campsite, and didn't land. They headed toward us, and we waited for them to get nearby to verify that the campsite was empty before making the windy crossing to Williamson Island. We made it, and enjoyed the afternoon prepping camp.
