Boundary Waters 1997 Trip
Ernie Brown had nearly a full crew of first-timers on the BWCAW trip in 1997. His son Charlie had been before, but this was the first-time trip for the rest of us - Eric Lippman, Ernie's friend from Atlanta, Mike Walker, Mark Lander, Dave Ridge, Julio Ibach, and me, Gerry Williamson. Dave, Julio, and I have returned four times since 1997. We entered Little Indian Sioux, camped 1st night on Lynx. We travelled over to Oyster and up to Ge-be-on-e-quet for night 2. Day 3 had us travelling up GB creek and Pocket Creek into Lac Lacroix, and down LLC to an island campsite across from Warrior Hill for nights 3 and 4. On Day 5 we cross Bottle Portage into Iron Lake, where we spent night 5 on a campsite on the eastern shore. Day 6 we travelled the 320 and 2 short portages into Agnes. Day 7 we exited from Agnes thru Nina Moose.
