The east side of the Hasbrouck House, facing the Hudson River. The house was used by George Washington as his headquarters for about 18 months, starting in April of 1782. The house was built by Jonathan Hasbrouck, but when Washington needed to use it, Mrs. Hasbrouck, who was now a widow, wasn't pleased. While she "allowed" it, she took all of her belonging from the house to ensure the rougher usage would not destroy them.
