New York Trip, August 2004 - Historical Visits
The Hudson River valley has been settled for over three centuries, and much activity during the American Revolution took place throughout this region, so there is much of historical interest in the area. Cindy and I visited Washington Headquarters Historic Site in Newburgh, as well as visiting 18th-century churches in Beacon and Fishkill. The Bannerman Castle, while not nearly as old (it was built between 1900 and 1910), also is of historical interest.
