This fellow and the one in the prior photo started the AT the previous September (2004) in Maine. They started 1 day apart, and hooked up after 4 days, I think. They took about a month off from mid-December to mid-January. This young man had just graduated from college with a degree that would take him into the adventure travel business, so this was good job experience.
